In year 1964, when Tokyo Olympic was held and Japan economically grew rapidly, Government of Japan started negotiation with US Government regarding reversion of Okinawa.
Kazuo Chiba, Chief of North America Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was a tough negotiator who lead this historical negotiation. Okinawa had been under US administration even 20 years after WWII, and US forces used Okinawa as bases for fighting Vietnam War and even stored nuclear weapons. Chiba, who stood up for Okinawan people, negotiated US Government for removal of nuclear weapons and B52 bombers from Okinawa, and drastic reduction of US bases. Behind his strong passion, he hid bitter experience during wartime. This movie is based on true story of the man who fought for Okinawa for all his life.
