Celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Wojciech Kilar, one of Poland's leading composers, the feature film will pick up three of his compositions. “Pan Tadeusz" written by Adam Mickiewicz, Poland's national poet, and directed by Andrzej Wajda, as well as the masterpiece "Koczak" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" for which Eiko Ishioka is in charge of costumes.
Polish Cinema Now! will feature "EO" the latest film by festival supervisor Jerzy Skolimowski and winner of the Jury Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival, starring a donkey. Skolimowski's previous film "11 Minutes" will also be screened on the same day. "Bread and Salt" the latest film by 39-year-old up-and-coming director Damien Kocur, nominated for the Orizzonti Competition at this year's Venice International Film Festival. Based on an actual incident, this masterpiece uses the eyes and music to depict the emotions of a young man. "A Song About Love" is a cute and bittersweet love story centered around black-and-white images of a young man and woman who decide to make music together after a certain event.
Documentary films include "Chopin: I am not afraid of darkness", about three pianists who play Chopin in a place that symbolizes the division and tragedy of the world, and "Polmission. Passport's secrets", about the fact that Polish diplomats were secretly rescuing Jews.
And considering the War in Ukraine "Mr. Jones" by Agnieszka Holland, a Polish woman director.
